The story of a photographer

My photography journey started in high school. Before the digital age took the creative market by storm, film was the medium of choice. I learned my way around a dark room, the basics of developing film, and the fundamentals of photography. I enjoyed being outside and capturing the tropical scenery that I grew up around. Miami was a fun, vibrant city to grow up in, and it truly shaped who I am today and why I love flamingos.

After high school, I attend the United States Air Force Academy, c/o 2005, STRIVE! I was on the women's swimming and diving team. I didn't have time for photography while at USAFA so my creativity took a back seat to academics, sports, and everything a military academy throws at you the 4 years you are there. After graduation I headed to Texas for pilot training. I met my husband at USAFA in 2003, and in 2006 after a dozen break-ups and figuring out life, we finally got married in San Antonio, TX. We are a proud military family and consider it a priveledge to serve.

In 2009, our son Jackson was born and that was when I picked up a camera again. Since 2009, I've been photographing families, babies, pets, landscapes, animals, events, air shows, and the occasional wedding. Photography is my creative outlet. I love to collaborate with seniors for their sessions so I can offer them a unique, one-of-a-kind experience. I don't just capture memories, I create pieces of art. Never in a million years did I think I would be a photographer, but I'm glad I found my calling. It has been a true blessing serving the families I've meet over the last 10 years.
